A Slice of Smith Life

The past few weeks I've been collaborating with Tracy at A Slice of Smith Life on her blog redesign.  Her original header was one of my first attempts at designing a header/banner.

Then Tracy contacted me requesting a new design, and I couldn't have been happier.  Secretly I had already been hunting for just the right look for her.  Since getting to know Tracy through her blog and co-hosting NOBH together, I now felt more adept at knowing what would please her.

In the end pleasing a client is what makes my work successful.  I really want to understand what they like, don't like, their desires, and their needs.  Everyone's blog is a personal space that should fill them with joy every time they see it.  To know they are sharing themselves with the world from a platform they are proud of and shows their personality.

I was even more pleased with how Tracy's button turned out. And that she has it as her Facebook profile picture confirms how pleased she is with the work I did for her. That is the bonus for me.

Please visit A Slice of Smith Life and let Tracy know what you think of her new look.

Redesign for Life's Adventures and Field Trip Blog Hop

Anna-Marie at Life's Adventures and Field Trip Blog Hop has been a good friend for more than a year. When she told me she wanted a new design for both her blogs, I was excited to get started. She wasn't completely sure what she wanted, but because of our friendship I had some ideas I thought she would like.

I made her original header based on her desire to highlight the travels and adventures she and her family go on.  And, living in the UK because of her husbands job I chose this photo as a play off the "across the pond" theme. She loved it, but...   now it's time for a change.  Here is the before of her personal blog.

Taking some of her families' photos of their adventures, and using her favorite color green, I created this wonderful collage.  After tweaking and changing a couple of the photos that Anna-Marie requested, this is what we came up with.  I think it came out beautifully and really shows their family adventures.

Earlier this year Anna-Marie mentioned wanting to start a Field Trip Blog Hop.  I came up with what was really only a temporary look.  She always wanted a map or globe image, but it was difficult to find just the right one.  Here is a before of Anna-Marie's Field Trip blog.

She finally found what she wanted!

I do enjoy working on making banners, headers, and buttons, but when I'm able to please a friend it brings a whole new level of joy for me.

Whether you know what you want, or you're not quite sure, I will work with you until you're completely satisfied.  If you would like to work with me on a new design, or you just need some help sprucing your blog up contact me and I'll help you out.

Helping out a bloggy buddy

Noreen at Rosary Mom needed a little help with her new design.  She wanted her blog title centered, and was having some other problems she wasn't quite sure how to fix.  I agreed to help her out, and while I was at I felt the button I created for her months ago just didn't work with her new look.

Keeping It Simple and Catholic Baby Steps

Laurie @ Keeping It Simple contacted me a few weeks ago and requested a blog redesign.  She wanted a clean, "simple" look, but wasn't sure what photo she wanted to use.  I spent some time looking over her blog, and praying for guidance.

There was one particular photo I had that kept calling to me.  So, I put the new design together and sent it to Laurie.

Laurie also has another blog that had a basic design. So, I created a banner/header and button for Catholic Baby Steps too.

It was such a pleasure working with Laurie.  I hope you will go over to her blogs, and see her new designs.
